My rather strange friend Walter
Book for young people
Lisa spends her evenings searching outer space for extraterrestrial life. For good reason, because her everyday life on Earth is not pleasant: her parents can hardly be distinguished from the sofa cushions, and at school she is a welcome victim for everyone. When a spaceship lands behind the house one night, the extraterrestrial travelling party only takes a brief, disgusted look at Earth and jets off again. Only one remains: Klakalnamanazdt, called Walter for short by Lisa. On Walter's planet, people mainly cuddle, play and look after each other. No wonder he finds everything very strange here. Without further ado, he begins to tidy up Lisa's life - until she can cope on our extremely strange planet Earth without the help of other people.
A furiously narrated and heavily illustrated comic novel by Sibylle Berg, one of the most exciting German-language authors of our time.
My Strange Friend Walter deals with important topics such as bullying and friendship and encourages us to take small steps even in difficult situations. Expressive and unusually realised as a comic novel by newcomer illustrator Julius Thesing ("You Don't Look Gay").
